Today we celebrate our 96th Independence day here in Finland. This year is even more special than usually because our President's official Independence day reception  is arranged here at my home town. The whole city center is decorated with blue and white lights and ribbons. Also the firework was really great this year. The center was filled with riot policemen, though, which is totally rare around here. In the pics I'm wearing my outfit from yesterday. We had an Independence day and graduation party at our school. The dress code was smart so that's what I tried to look like without being too put together. I think I nailed it pretty well.

Hyvää itsenäisyyspäivää kaikille suomalaisille! Ajattelin nyt ainakin kokeilla tän blogin kirjoittamista sekä englanniksi että suomeksi. Katotaan, miten tää tästä lähtee sujumaan. Tän vuoden itsenisyyspäivä on tavallaan vähän erityisempi, kun Linnanjuhlat järjestetään täällä omassa kotikaupungissa. Huomaa kyllä, että tänä vuonna koristeisiin ja ilotulitukseen on panostettu vähän enemmän. Ja koko keskusta oli täynnä mellakkapoliiseja, joita en varmaan oo ikinä livenä nähnyt. Kuvissa näkyy mun asu eiliseltä. Meillä oli koulussa itsenäisyyspäivä- ja lakkiaisjuhlat ja pukukoodi oli siisti. Mielestäni onnistuin tän asun kanssa aika hyvin, näyttämättä kuitenkaan liian laitetulta.

The 1st of December...where did the whole autumn go?! I just started school and now there are only three weeks before it's Christmas. I'm totally overwhelmed. Anyway yesterday we had our riding stables pre-Christmas party and this is what I wore. Red and ruffles = Christmas feeling. The food was delicious and we had a great time with our friends from the stables. On top of it it started snowing yesterday and by the evening the ground was covered with a thick layer of snow. I'd say I'm off to a good start for Christmas season.

Isabel Marant pour H&M-collection was launched last Thursday. I was in "position" already a bit before 8 o'clock. There was a bunch of people waiting for the doors to open. I've never been in such an event before so I was a bit shocked when I saw a security guard standing at the door letting two or three people enter to the store at the time. Later the security guard told us that a fight had broken already in the queue in Helsinki and here they wanted to avoid this kind of situation. After a while I got in to the store and luckily got the items I wanted to buy. Now I am a happy owner of an incredibly soft sweater and a super cool bracelet. Jejj!:)

Tried to be like a real model - didn't exactly work...

I got this Just me T-shirt as a souvenir from my mom from Estonia. It's absolutely one of my favourite pieces at the moment. It's comfortable to wear and it looks great, especially with red lips;). About the weather, it was a bit chilly yesterday but as you can see the sun was shining beautifully. And today...it's sleeting...The winter is coming, no denying of that(luckily I bought a new beanie yesterday which will keep my head warm). But I have all these sunny pics cheering me up if darkness and greyness gets unbearable.

I had a super nice and relaxed day! I had "school" for only two hours and after that I went for have a coffee with my friends. I also bought the checked shirt I'm wearing in the pics. I wanted to have the exact shirt I had on my wishlist but my size was sold out so I took this green one. And I do love it! It's really soft and I like the fact that the inside of the shirt looks like denim because that gives the shirt a nice twist. On my way to the bus stop I run into my friend I haven't seen in a long time and we had a nice chat. I took a walk with my dog twice today and the weather...it was AMAZING. This could be called a perfect day!:)

My autumn's color palette: black and gray. But the combination is actually not that bad. Especially if you have nice details in your clothes like my new super soft and warm knit from Vero Moda has. And then we have accessories: you can change an outfit into a whole different one with them. I chose these earrings to the outfit because they have the exact same colors as my clothes. This time my mood in the pictures than usually: I'm not smiling. That's simply because I was very irritated yesterday when we took these pics and I didn't feel like smiling. I wanted to use the pictures anyway because mom had the nerves to shoot me despite my bitchy attitude. On the other hand maybe unsmiling fits to this "dark" theme.
